The Scholarly Communication Unit of HEAL-Link (EESC) is hosted by the Library and Information Centre of the University of Patras. The General Assembly of HEAL-Link decided on its creation in 2020, for the processing of the scholarly communication needs of all HEAL-Link Institutions-Members. Its specific goals are:
- Informing the Greek academic community through any given media, and giving opinions to effectively promote Open Access to scientific information and Open Science,
- Monitoring international developments and informing the academic community on best practices, peer review, research data management and research assessment,
- Promoting all beneficial measures – of regarding technology, law and policy – for the provision of research content under the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), and
- Representing HEAL-Link in relevant international synergies and projects.
